The Narc Dictionary is a small archive of language quietly borrowed from people who never intended to be quoted. It is part dictionary, part diary, and part translation service — an unofficial reference for anyone who has been told, gently or otherwise, that they remember things wrong.

Every entry has been overheard, underestimated, and eventually written down. Nothing here is invented. Very little is exaggerated. Names, as one would expect, have been withheld to protect the guilty.

It is offered without malice, and without apology — which, incidentally, is more than most of its subjects have ever managed.
